Carrying the weaving tradition into the future with a strong focus on quality, sustainability, and innovation since 1965, İlhan Mensucat shares its vision with Desen Life readers ahead of ICFE 2026, which will be held for the first time under the name “International Carpet & Flooring Expo” in its third year.
Mr. Kalyancıoğlu, could you briefly introduce yourself and İlhan Mensucat to our readers?
I was born in Gaziantep in 1991 and I am a mechanical engineer. Textile manufacturing has always been at the heart of our family. İlhan Mensucat was founded in 1965 by my grandfather İlhan Kalyancıoğlu. Today, as the third generation, we proudly carry this heritage into the future with modern production and technology investments.
Could you tell us about your product groups and production approach?
Our product range includes kilims, carpet covers, multi-purpose cotton covers, upholstery fabrics, and various textile products. While closely following global trends, we focus on creating functional and aesthetic solutions for living spaces.
How important are R&D and innovation for your company?
R&D is a continuous process for us. Our goal is to be a brand that leads rather than follows. Our ECRE brand, fully designed and produced by İlhan Mensucat, is one of the most recent examples of this approach.
How would you describe your production infrastructure and investments?
With our new facility in Gaziantep 2nd Organized Industrial Zone, we have significantly strengthened our machinery infrastructure. Growing with our own capital enables us to maintain quality, sustainability, and long-term stability.
How do you evaluate ICFE 2026 under its new name?
We believe that ICFE has gained a stronger international identity with its new name. Participating as an exhibitor at Istanbul Expo Center between January 6–9, 2026 represents an important opportunity for our brand and for the industry.
